The Hunted and the Hunter.

She exits the shop, locking the door behind her as the wind blew along the silent street. Turning to her left, she started toward her vehicle, shifting the binders in her hands, her mind on the work she was to do this weekend.

The hunt is started…the prey is found.

The click of her heels was the only sound, with the breeze blowing the few leaves left in the trees. She held the binders closer to her chest as a chill comes over her body. A chill that felt a little different, the hair on the back of her neck rising.

Her body temperature lowers, the scent of her coming to him now.

She hears it, the sound of a breath. She turned quickly and a breeze brushed her face. Silly it was just the wind. She looked up at the stars, the one street light ahead letting her enjoy the crescent moon of the night, as she started to walk again. The sound of her heels clicking calmed her mind until she heard the deeper thump.

A tease, her heart jumping as she felt a few seconds of fear. It wets his appetite

She heard the foot step behind her and looked over her shoulder. Strange to hear another person here, as she knew the shops were closed, no homes about. Heavy footsteps of a man, a man she felt like a current of electricity over her skin. Her mind, and body screamed to her she was in danger. They were getting closer to her now.

He smiled, seeing her look, hearing her heart starting to beat a little faster. He enjoyed hearing blood run thru her veins. This pray was strong.

She heard the footsteps speed up, getting nearer to her. She speed up, her body growing hot as her heartbeat increased, and her fear. He was getting closer to her… closer. She started a slow jog, looking at her SUV, just ahead of her. Then the footsteps stopped. She turned, her hand on her keys as the self defense class taught her. No one was behind her. She looked around, and spoke “Who is there?” Sound of laughter mocking her. She looked were she thought it came from in the shadow. Nothing. She stood…and waited.

His craving was taking over, the need growing stronger. This pray was brave and he would enjoy killing her. He would bring her death.

She felt it- like a cold wave coming from the shadows. She wonders if death felt that way. She turned, her breast flatten by the binders as she hugged them to her chest, using them as a shield as she crossed the street at a run, the safety of the vehicle just ahead. She used her clicker, unlocked the doors just before she was shoved hard from behind, landing face down in the street within a foot of her vehicle. She screamed, the breath leaving her lungs as she turned to see black worn boots at her side. Before she could look up, they were gone.

The hunt is almost over… but not yet. She was fun to play with.

She pulled herself to her knees, blood on them from the fall.

He enjoyed the smells of blood mixed with her fear... almost losing control.

Not seeing anyone around as she glanced around, she step forward to get to her feet, leaving the binders on the street. Making sure she still had the car keys she felt she only had to get in her car to be safe. She stood and took the step forward, her palms and knees protesting the movement and she saw herself …seeing her frighten face in the darken car window, taken back. Eyes wide, hair out of her pins at the side from the shove, her mouth open slightly as she panted, fear overtaking her. Hand on the door handle she started to jerk the unlocked car door…

The hunter caught his prey.

A strong pressure came over her neck, a ban of pressure around her waist, pinning her arms to her side as a cold hand moved to her jaw, pulling her head to the side with a sharp hurtful tug. She did not see the person in the car window, but she felt him, knew he had caught her. She felt the cold breath at her neck, a sharp stinging pain at the side. She screamed out in pain, seeing a stream of blood role down the neck of her blouse, the heat of the blood on her skin.

The keys feel to the street as she was pulled back away from the light…and into the darkness.
